Asseco Slovakia was by the informal association of Slovak journalists and members of professional associations in the area of information technologies and telecommunications awarded as the IT COMPANY of the year 2007.

The awards IT COMPANY of the year 2007, IT PROJECT of the year and IT PERSONALITY of the year where given already the 7th time on the IT Gala ceremony organized by Slovak IT Association, PC REVUE and INFOWARE on 27th September, 2007. The purpose of this competition is to award professional and managerial effort of personalities and companies which are active in the information technologies and telecommunications field, as well as to award unique projects, which were realized that year.

According to the committee, Asseco Slovakia received the title IT COMPANY of the year 2007 thanks to its last year successful debut on the Warsaw Stock Exchange as the first Slovak company directly listed on the foreign stock exchange, for a remarkable grow of our company on the local and Czech IT market and also because of a development of our products with a big amount of own added value. The price was given from the hands of Dusan Caplovic, Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of the Slovak Republic for Knowledge-Based Society, European Affairs, Human Rights and Minorities to Jozef Klein, CEO and Chairman of the Board of Directors.

Asseco Slovakia got from the wide nomination of more then 70 personalities, companies and project from IT and telecommunication sector to a short nomination in all three categories – IT COMPANY, IT PROJECT with the National unified tourism information system and Jozef Klein as the IT PERSONALITY of the year 2007.

Personalities accepting the nomination were assessed by the jury with regard to their contribution to technological progress, development of IT business in Slovakia. Membership in advisory bodies, professional associations, engagement in education, enlightenment and information of the public were also taken into account. The selection of best companies was based on development of unique products, introduction of new services, exports of products with high added value, development of new market segments, investment into company development, cooperation with academic sphere and research institutes and charity projects. By comparing the projects the originality of the solution, its wide use and assets counted.

We appreciate winning the category IT COMPANY of the year 2007 especially when it is announced by the specialist from the IT sector. We consider it as the evaluation of our employees’ hard work and effort.
