We’ve seen this happen before: in the 1980s, a new class of end user device (the PC), and new types of networks and computing platforms driven by the PC, radically expanded the users – and uses – of IT. This drove massive change in architectural offerings and industry structure, and led to enormous market growth. Today, it’s obvious that a new wave of IT industry expansion and transformation is happening again. The question is: Are we ready for this change?

Cloud services, mobile devices and apps, broadband connectivity, and social networking represent the key elements of the new platform for growth in both the IT industry itself and the industries it serves.

What the information technologies landscape of 2012 will be like? What will be the major drivers and inhibitors for the IT industry?

Welcome to the first Ukrainian Directions event! IDC’s Directions conferences, held annually in various locations of the world, are recognized as the industry’s premier event and deliver an informative and actionable overview of the issues shaping the information technology, telecommunications, and consumer technology markets. Directions feature forecasts, insights, and usable guidance from IDC analysts, as well as opportunities to connect directly with our analysts for face-to-face discussions on your most pressing issues.

This year’s Directions event in Kyiv will consist of a morning plenary and afternoon break-out sessions.

At the morning session we will aim to provide you with “the big picture” of the IT market as a whole.

We will talk about the key global trends in IT and present an IDC view on today’s competitive landscape and on the IT picture of tomorrow.

We will give an overview of the state of the Ukrainian IT market as of the end of 2011.

Afternoon parallel sessions will be focused on Ukrainian hardware, software, and IT services markets respectively. During their presentations, local analyst teams will release all available results of their research in 2011. This includes the overall size of the PC, server, HCP, software, and services markets for 2011, as well as market share data and analysis of the year’s key trends, and current forecasts for 2012.

All IDC Ukraine analysts will be available for one-to-one meetings during which you’ll be able to challenge the analysts on their data and receive immediate feedback.

The event participation is not limited to a particular position, but would be most useful for:

  • marketing directors
  • sales directors
  • department leaders
  • country managers

IDC welcomes the representatives of

  • vendors
  • systems integrators
  • distributors
  • companies tracking the IT market (recruitment agencies, consulting companies etc.)
