Endava named #1 IT employer to work for in Romania

Endava, the leading IT Services company with delivery centres in Eastern Europe, has taken the top spot in a ranking of the top 20 IT companies to work for in Romania.

The ranking, published recently by a prominent Romanian business magazine, BIZ, in partnership with a recruitment consultancy company, includes local companies as well as big names like Microsoft, Adobe or Intel.

The four main criteria in the analysis were, in the order of importance: the company culture (weighting 30%), salary package (25%), projects and technologies (25%) and hiring plans for the next 12 months (20%).  The scoring was done based on information submitted by companies or information on companies already available on the market.

John Cotterell, Chief Executive, Endava said: “This survey has recognised the priority that Endava places on enabling our people to be the best that they can be. This focus enables us to attract and retain the best people, providing exciting careers  and ensuring they have access to world class training to further develop their skills.  We are committed to growing our staff numbers in Romania by 25% each year in the next two years.”

Endava is a very active employer on the IT market in Romania and has nearly 1,000 staff in the delivery centres in Bucharest, Cluj and Iași.  Endava was also shortlisted in previous years in awards in Romania in categories such as Best Employment Initiative.

To support the professional development of staff, Endava has a Talent Management strategy which starts with an induction process, where new employees get introduced to the operational processes within the company, followed by technical and soft skills training organised via the Endava University programme. The company provides a great work environment in all the Eastern European offices including sports rooms and other relaxation areas, and also organises many social activities;  from internal sports competitions and charitable activity, to parties and Special Fridays  -  all aimed to promote team work and make the work place as creative and innovative as possible.

Endava wants to create value in the markets where it operates, so in addition to focusing on employee retention, the company runs internship and graduate programmes across all offices in Eastern Europe, thus aiming to contribute to both the increase of the level of knowledge on the market and bringing new talent to the organisation.

The growth of the company brings great career opportunities for Endava’s employees, either as new leadership roles or exposure to large projects with complex business.  Within each technical discipline, Endava employees can follow a certain technology practice (i.e. Java Development, Automation Testing, etc) and develop their skills for People Management roles. There are workshops & study groups organised within the company, so that people can share knowledge with their colleagues. Endava also offers support in achieving IT certifications or participating in relevant IT events.
