Endava opens new delivery centre and will employ over 400 people in Skopje, Macedonia

Endava, one of the fastest growing IT Services companies in Europe with 1,500 full time employees, has established a development centre in Skopje, the capital city of Macedonia, where it plans to employ 100 people in the next 12 months and over 400 people in the next 4 years.

Endava, headquartered in London and with further offices in Frankfurt, New York, Atlanta, Glasgow and Oxford, has a proven and successful delivery model of combining engineering excellence from its Eastern Europe locations with industry expertise in its target markets.

Endava was listed among the top 100 outsourcing companies worldwide and has a growth strategy focused on expanding its presence in Eastern Europe by continuing to grow its existing development and support centres and by opening new offices. Endava is one of the most active IT employers in Romania and Moldova, where the company has delivery centres in the main IT hubs in the region:  Bucharest, Chisinau, Cluj and Iasi, and the company was recently named #1 IT employer to work for in Romania.

Endava’s employees deliver IT solutions for large multinational companies in the banking, payments, insurance, retail, travel, telco, media and publishing sectors. The company makes significant investment in the professional development of its staff, from top training delivered via the Endava University programme to internship and graduate programmes across all its offices in Eastern Europe.

Through the location of its delivery centres in Eastern Europe, Endava is well positioned to support global clients in implementing complex IT projects, benefitting from a high quality of labour pool, time zone, language skills, close cultural alignment and good flight connections.

Endava plans a 25% annual increase in headcount in its existing locations in Romania and Moldova, where it already has over 1,300 employees. In Macedonia, in the next 12 months the company will be recruiting 100 people for its new delivery centre and aiming to grow the teams in the next 4 years to over 400, which will represent approximately 10% of the total headcount at group level.

Macedonia is known as the fastest growing ICT market in the Adriatic region.  With 41% of the population aged below 30 and an increasing number of educated young people, in Macedonia the percentage of ICT graduates almost doubled over the last four years.  Skopje already has an 8,000 strong IT community. Local universities are establishing strong computer science faculties, with 800 new graduates a year helping to drive and support the rapidly growing IT sector. With direct flights from London and good connections via Vienna and Zagreb, plus Central European Time zone, Skopje is ideally placed for delivering to clients in the Western European and North American markets.

John Cotterell, CEO Endava, commented

“Our business success is leading to further expansion in Eastern Europe. Skopje has a great potential for the IT sector due to the excellent universities, highly educated workforce and excellent language skills.  We have also been encouraged by the favourable business environment in Macedonia and by the open approach of the authorities and local businesses. We will build a strong team in Skopje and will create value by offering exciting IT careers and experience for both professionals and graduates, thus increasing the maturity of the market.”

Visar Fida CEO Invest Macedonia said

“Invest Macedonia is the primary government institution which is in charge of attracting new foreign investments in Macedonia. Our institution offers full assistance to foreign investors through our global network of offices by creating and adding value to companies with our broad knowledge and experience of the business environment and the investment opportunities in Macedonia. With this investment project we expect our country to benefit in many respects. Endava will bring quality and innovative practices in our technology sector and at the same time our tech graduates will have the opportunity to work for one of the best British companies in this industry. For these reasons I have a great pleasure to announce this investment project and welcome Endava in Macedonia.”
