FMS and Blue Bridge Set Up Joint Venture for Sale and Implementation of Financial Management Solutions in Lithuania

One of the fastest growing IT companies in Latvia, FMS (Financial Management Solutions), and a leading Lithuanian technology company, Blue Bridge, have announced set up of a joint venture, FMS Lietuva, in Lithuania with the purpose to combine their experience, competence and resources in order to offer new corporate management solutions to private and public sector clients in Lithuania.

FMS Lietuva registered capital is 345,300 Litas with 51% held by the Latvian company FMS and 49% held by Blue Bridge. The new company will offer on the Lithuanian market processes, financial and resource management and accounting  solutions for businesses and public institutions of different sizes. Based on the Apvarsnis software popular in Latvia, an enterprise resources management solution has been developed specifically for the Lithuanian market, and will now be available not only in Latvian and English, but also in the Lithuanian language. The localization includes its compliance also with the Lithuanian laws.

„Our ambition to bring our services to the international market is based on the more than ten years long successful experience of Apvarsnis in the Latvian market and professional reputation of our services. We became partners with Blue Bridge because they are among the most professional and dynamic IT companies in Lithuania and have similar corporate culture. I am certain that FMS experience in development and implementation of corporate management systems will greatly complement Blue Bridge expertise in IT infrastructure solutions and excellent relations with Lithuanian clients,” said FMS Board Chairman Janis Bergs, commenting on organization of the new joint venture.

“We start this partnership with what we believe is the most competent and successful ERP software company in the Baltics. On our part, we will do our best to contribute local knowledge, project management and other expertise in order to serve customers with only the best quality solutions, as laid down in the Blue Bridge business philosophy”, – says Blue Bridge General Manager Zbigniew Gulbinowicz.

Linas Markevicius, 52, has been appointed as FMS Lietuva Managing Director. Previously Linas Markevicius headed Navision Software and has held managerial duties in Robertson & Blums, Compaq, Hewlett Packard and ABB.

The corporate management system to be offered on the Lithuanian market has been developed on the basis of the Apvarsnis software, which is popular in Latvia. The system already has over 1600 clients in Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia with the total number of users exceeding 25,000. In addition to the basic functionality as the main ledger, supply and sales, fixed assets register, warehouse, payroll and personnel management, the system has several industry-specific support modules, including solutions for retail chains, production planning and accounting at manufacturing companies, wood-processing  companies as well as solutions for real estate management  and for municipal and  government functions.

„Our main advantage is that we look at the client’s needs from the business perspective, our solutions are comparatively easy and quick to implement, they can handle a large number of transactions and users, are easily integrated with other programs and meet the most advanced modern technological requirements. All those conditions suggest that we have a good chance for growth on the Lithuanian market. Despite the wide range of already existing software, their dealers do not pay much attention to the clients’ business specifics and most of the solutions offered are general, complicated in implementation and inflexible to changes,” said FMS Board Chairman Janis Bergs.
