GlobalLogic Acquires Validio Software, Expands .NET Expertise and Strengthens European and U.S. Presence

GlobalLogic, Inc., the leader in global product development, today announced its acquisition of Validio Software, a U.S.-based software development company with a 350-person center in Kharkov, Ukraine. The acquisition expands GlobalLogic’s ability to build and support products developed on the Microsoft .NET Framework, and it provides Validio Software’s clients access to non-Microsoft product development expertise as well as development centers in the U.S., India, Ukraine and China.

The acquisition of Validio Software will expand our ability to partner with technology companies worldwide around full product lifecycle development services on .NET, while adding to our pool of talented software R&D engineers,” said Peter Harrison, chief executive officer of GlobalLogic. “Combined with our existing development center in Kiev, Validio’s Kharkov center will make us the largest software employer in Ukraine. Our shared focus on maintaining an open culture that emphasizes innovation with clients and employees while providing the highest quality software R&D services make this a natural fit.”

“It is a win-win situation,” said Andrew Kalinovsky, chief executive officer of Validio Software. “Our clients will benefit by having immediate access to the unique skills of more than 2,200 GlobalLogic engineers in development centers on three continents. GlobalLogic’s clients, on the other hand, will now be able to take advantage of Validio’s .NET expertise. Many of our 300 plus experienced professionals have been certified by Microsoft.”

Validio Software’s clients will gain access to all of GlobalLogic’s services, including its recently introduced GlobalLogic Version 1.0 offering, which enables entrepreneurs and domain experts to rapidly access full product lifecycle development support without any internal engineering staff. Version 1.0 also provides a dedicated executive advisor and access to the GlobalLogic technology ecosystem of potential clients, partners and investors.

Validio’s clients can also benefit from GlobalLogic’s distributed Agile development method and platform, GlobalLogic Velocity™. Velocity, recently recognized by InfoWorld Magazine for Agile Innovation Excellence, shrinks the software product development lifecycle and ensures that robust, high-quality product releases are delivered on time.

“Validio has been a reliable partner for us, helping to deliver cutting edge solutions for the life sciences industry. I am excited to see them joining forces with GlobalLogic,” said Bob Webber, CEO of TranSenda LLC, one of Validio Software’s clients. “Validio’s team can develop complex software products, and they are great to work with. Now that they are a part of GlobalLogic, it will give TranSenda the ability to leverage a larger pool of talent with diverse skill sets.”

Validio Software, co-founded in 1994 by Andrew Kalinovsky, its current chief executive officer, and David Margolius, the company’s president, has earned a solid reputation for specializing in full product lifecycle development services on the .NET platform. It has experienced continuing growth and impressive financial performance by working with more than 60 established technology clients, ranging from younger companies like Daptiv and TranSenda, to well-known brand names such as Adobe, Medtronic and Starbucks. The company’s former headquarters, located in Bellevue, Washington will continue as a GlobalLogic facility, increasing GlobalLogic’s presence in the Pacific North-West. GlobalLogic is headquartered in Vienna, Virginia.

Validio Software and GlobalLogic combined have more than 900 software R&D engineers in Ukraine. GlobalLogic is the largest software employer in Ukraine, and in 2007 was named a “Top 3 Technology Employer” in Ukraine by Hewitt Associates, the world’s largest provider of multi-service HR services and consulting. GlobalLogic focuses solely on software product R&D for technology companies, not IT services. GlobalLogic services include product testing and quality assurance, product analysis, conceptualization and realization, migration and porting, and product maintenance and support.
