About

The first edition of PLNOG was held in January 2008 at the initiative of the PROIDEA Foundation for Supporting IT Education.

The genesis of the creation of the conference was a discussion with representatives of the local ISP market and a willingness to chart new standards of cooperation between companies providing ICT services.

Unlike other NOG (Network Operators’ Group) type conferences, the organizers also aimed to create an independent meeting of network operators, rather than a meeting sponsored by one operator.

Our mission is to:

  • support cooperation between network operators;
  • facilitate an exchange of experiences between representatives of the ICT sector and the telecommunications education network;
  • create an opportunity to work on the development of the ICT industry and ISPs in Poland.

PLNOG achieves these objectives during a conference organized twice a year, as well as workshops and joint mailing lists. Over seven years we have managed to create a community that regularly gathers at our meetings and establishes new initiatives.

The PLNOG participants are representatives of companies providing Internet services, telecommunications, as well as representatives of major companies, organizations and corporations that use their services.

The conference is a forum for the exchange of information for those who create and develop the telecommunications infrastructure and analyze and monitor the development of the network in our country.
