In the last couple of months, there have been many high profile exposure of ethical and social compliance related issues such as working hours and working conditions, child labor, wages and benefits, environmental conditions at factories of major global brands, retailers, consumer electronics companies and manufacturers.
The response of these organizations was very comprehensive and included publishing vendor code of conduct, results of the Fair Labor Association (FLA) review and worker surveys, making public their factory list in addition to monthly reporting on working hours, audit findings and corrective actions.
