RomaniaIT Set the Benchmark High for CEE IT Hubs

Romanian IT&C companies returned full enthusiasm from CeBIT 2013. Romanian IT Pavilion members welcomed 35 000 visitors and sealed deals of an estimated EUR 5.1 Million for the coming years over five days of CeBIT 2013.

2013 marked the 12th Romanian national participation at CeBIT. This year a number of 19 companies have showcased their IT&C services and technical know-how at the digital world flagship event that took place between the 5th and 9th of March, 2013, in Hannover, Germany.

Romania’s presence at CeBIT 2013 is part of the Exports Promotion Program organized by the Romanian Employer’s Association of the Software and Services Industry (ANIS), in partnership with the Ministry of Economy, Commerce and Business Environment (MECMA). As a result of the outstanding collaboration between the Romanian IT&C private sector and the Romanian Government the brand RomaniaIT – by now internationally recognized – has been created to showcase creative talent and technical excellence Romania excels in. Among the 4000 companies from over 70 countries, Romania was represented by 19 IT&C companies at CeBIT 2013: Accesa, Ambo, Arhivio Data, Arobs, Avaelgo, Class IT Outsourcing, Codespring, Evoline, Feper, Fortech, Green Soft, ISDC Romania, Nexus Electronics, Pentalog Romania, RINF Outsourcing Solutions, Ropardo, RomSoft, Stratum Enclosures and Transilvania Software. These companies are mainly software development services providers, but retailers and domestic hardware manufacturers also showed their offers this year.

In actual numbers, Romania’s presence at the prime event of the IT&C industry meant: 35 000 visitors, 67% increase of the specialized visitors, effective Future Match sessions, increased number of decision maker’s looking for CEE IT&C outsourcing services after previous years IT&C India experience and an estimated total deals of Euro 5.1 million. The Romanian Government allocated from the state budget EUR 180 000 to sponsor Romania’s presence at CeBIT 2013.

In order to promote the Romanian IT&C industry, RomaniaIT booth hosted on the 6th of March 2013 the RomaniaIT party. A total of 250 special guests had the chance to learn more about Romania, taste Romanian wines and traditional food specialties and to meet Romanain IT&C specialists.

“With the Shareconomy theme, CeBIT put a focus on sharing data, resources, goods and infrastructure. It has also pointed out the human resources shortage the IT sector faces presently. It was an outstanding opportunity for us to promote on the global market Romanian IT talent and to share the technical know-how we gained over the years.”- declared Mr. Levente Szélyes, CEO Codespring and continued: “We raise special thanks to the Romanian organizing team, led by Mrs. Valerica Dragomir, Executive Director at A.N.I.S. for contributing to the success of the event.”
