SITRONICS (LSE: SITR), the leading provider of telecommunications, IT and microelectronics solutions in Russia and the CIS, summarises the first year of its NIKA presence in the Indian market. Over this period, the security and navigation solution has been implemented at more than 30 local companies.
NIKA is SITRONICS’ project aimed at helping small, medium and large businesses to increase safety of fleet and manage their transport and ensure the security of drivers and passengers. In one year of work, NIKA has been implemented at 30 transportation companies operating across India. Currently around 700 NIKA terminal devices are connected to the system, and this number is increasing by 10 % each month.
With NIKA’s innovative functionality, SITRONICS’ customers in India can increase safety of drivers and passengers who are the customers of transportation companies, and optimise their fleet expenses.
Within a year, SITRONICS has adapted NIKA to the Indian market and refined its functionality. As such, SITRONICS has created and brought into use NIKA terminals with CDMA support and installed a local server to provide services to customers, who are now able to track vehicles and monitor their performance in a real-time environment. “School Bus” module was created specially for India. This moduleenables video monitoring inside school buses, with online streaming on a public website, as well as SMS or e-mail notifications to parents, informing them when the bus is approaching certain busstop.
“We are satisfied with our cooperation with SITRONICS in implementing NIKA,” commented Jagdish C. Yadav, Managing Director of SS Cabs, a transportation company, which provides all types of services in areas such as car rental, airport transfer, long or short distance removals and event transportation support. “In the year SITRONICS has equipped approximately 200 of our vehicles with its innovative equipment, which has significantly increased the quality of service and the level of safety for our customers. In addition, using NIKA we have managed to prevent a number of attempted thefts of our vehicles in the year.”
“The NIKA service has been successfully implemented in Russia many times, and when adapting the solution for India we followed best practice, which we have built up undertaking projects for our Russian customers in various industries,” said Boris Volpe, Vice President of Marketing and Business Development for SITRONICS. “The requirements of our customers in India have significantly enhanced the service’s functionality and have helped to make it more attractive to customers in other countries. In India we have entered new segments, such as school buses and monitoring of diesel generators, which are widespread in this country. I should specifically note the reliability of our solution: despite the harsh climate, no failure of user terminals occurred during the year of their operation. Indian market is very specific, and so the success that we have achieved with NIKA within such a short period of time demonstrates a high level of demand for this solution in the private and public sectors, as well as allowing us to forecast good development prospects for this solution in India and also in other markets where we are planning to launch this product. The Company’s short-term plans include the development of our partner network to promote NIKA across India.”
