TotalSoft announces signing a contract with STX OSV Tulcea and Braila shipyards, members of the group with the same name based in Norway and active in 6 countries and 3 continents, for the implementation of the Oracle Primavera project management solution and training services.Once the contract was signed, the number of shipyards working with software solutions from TotalSoft became 8, representing 82% of the shipyard market in Romania, a business estimated in 2011 roughly at 850 million eur.
According to the contract, TotalSoft will provide for two naval units, four types of services: training for the client’s specific needs, consultancy in configuring the solution on the particular business needs, integration of the projects carried out in the previous project management solution and integration of Primavera with Charisma ERP’s Manufacturing module (already used by two units).
Last year, STX OSV started a broader investment plan in Romania regarding the modernization of the two units, by refurbishing some facilities, building new assembly hall and expanding the site in Tulcea, with 25%. TotalSoft’s Primavera solution will be used to manage all projects undertaken by STX OSV and ensure they will be delivered according with time and budget constraints intially estimated.
STX OSV is a group of shipyards dedicated to the design and construction of offshore and specialized vessels. The group comprises 15 shipyards – in Finland, France, Norway, Brazil, Vietnam and Romania – and has 16,000 employees. Tulcea and Braila yards have togehter over 4,700 employees.
TotalSoft provides project management services and solutions, supported by Primavera solution since 1995, so far reaching a portfolio of over 700 customers and a range of services covering the various needs of project management (sales and implementation of Primavera, consultancy, training, integration, PM Staffing, technical support and maintenance).
