Comarch EDI project implemented in American Restaurants

Cooperation between Comarch and the American Restaurants chain began in mid-September of 2008. Ultimately, 130 restaurants in Poland will participate in the project.

In September, communication tests between the Crown Wroclaw KFC restaurant and the main supplier of AmRest – McLane Company Poland was initiated. Currently, other restaurants and suppliers are being connected.

Each of the restaurants sends electronic orders, which upon being received, is confirmed by electronic return receipt. Additionally, suppliers send product catalogues through the ECOD platform, in this way information about their products go directly to the AmRest system. Plans for further development of the project contain the introduction of electronic invoices, which would fully replace paper documents.

- Ultimately, roll-out of the project will cover all the CEE countries where AmRest is present in. We have already begun a conversation with one of the suppliers about a pilot EDI project in Starbucks in the Czech Republic. Because of the integration of the ECOD platform with the POS system used in the restaurants project, it requires from us a flexible and ‘out of the box’ approach. Finally we plan to connect nearly 400 locations cooperating with several dozen suppliers in 6 countries – says Marcin Warwas, Comarch SA Vice President responsible for the Trade and Services Business Unit.

AmRest Holdings SE (AmRest, WSE: EAT) is the largest independent restaurant chain in Central and Eastern Europe. Since 1993, the Company develops KFC, Pizza Hut, Burger King, Applebee’s and Starbucks based on a franchise and joint venture type of cooperation. AmRest currently manages more than 390 restaurants in the quick-service restaurant segment (Quick Service Restaurants) and restaurant with waitress service (Casual Dining Restaurants), including the brand created by AmRest: Freshpoint and Rodeo Drive.
