Report on the “Runet Prize 2014” award ceremony

On the 25th November 2014 in Moscow’s “Glavclub” the “Runet Prize 2014” award ceremony took place. Awards were handed over to winners in 6 general and 3 specialist categories.

For the category “Economics, Business and Investment”, the award was given to the payment system Payler, the platform for crowd-funding Planeta.ru, and the centre for online-education from the Netology-Group.

For achievements in the sphere of technology and innovation the companies honoured were the Yota fund for the development of internet initiatives, an online-video sharing platform Pladform, and Acronis, the Russian producers of a programme ensuring the protection of data.

The service for the purchase of flights and hotel reservations ANYWAYANYDAY received an award in the category “Health, Entertainment and Relaxation”. The online service for the best serials “Amediateka” won in the category for “Culture, Mass Media and Mass Communications”. As special nominations in the category for “The Investment in the Development of the Infrastructure of the Russian Internet”, the Moscow Internet Exchange (MSK-IX), the RocHIIROC Russian research institute for the development of social sites, and Roctelekom were honoured.

The “Runet Prize” is a national award for achievements in the area of advanced technology and the internet, rewarding the stand out services of leading companies in the IT and electronic communication sector, governmental and social organisations, business organisations, and also individuals, who contribute substantially to the development of the Russian internet (Runet).
