SaM Solutions to sponsor and take part in LVEE Winter 2012

LVEE Winter 2012 , the first winter session of Linux Vacation/Eastern Europe, an international conference of free open-source software developers and users, will take place on February 10-12 near Minsk, Belarus. Following a long tradition, SaM Solutions will once again become a sponsor of this event. The conference will be a perfect spot for experts and enthusiasts of FOSS (including GNU/Linux and other platforms) to meet, talk, share ideas and have a good time.

This year, the conference will focus on the use of open source technologies in the business domain, development of business applications and a number of hardware-related topics. Over 140 experts in the area of open-source software are expected to participate, including the developers of NetBSD, Alt Linux and OpenStreetMap, the teaching staff of technical universities from Belarus, Ukraine, Lithuania and Russia, experts in such areas as cloud technologies, data centers, high perfomance computing, Embedded Linux, VoIP telephony and other aspects of the use of Free/Open Source Software.

LVEE is organized and hosted by the Minsk Linux Users Group and a number of active members of the open source community from Belarus. The format of the conference includes reports, short presentations and code sprints. All LVEE Winter 2012 materials are already publicly accessible, but will be updated with multimedia content (slides and videos) later on. Report abstracts will also be included in a printed collection of LVEE 2012 materials.

Reports presented at the conference will relate to the development, maintenance and administration of free software, using it for developing other solutions, creating businesses based on FOSS and the nuances of using free licenses. The conference traditionally encompasses a broad range of platforms – from workstations and servers to embedded systems and mobile devices.

By taking part in this conference, SaM Solutions aims to back its reputation as one of the leading developers of Linux-based embedded software and seek opportunities to further expand its Linux development department. LVEEWinter 2012 will allow the company representatives to meet colleagues and potential clients, share their vision of the Embedded Linux market, discuss the most serious problems that IT service providers face on this market today, as well as to establish business relations and partnerships with other companies.
