The accountancy profession’s need for “robust and secure IT infrastructures” makes it a prime candidate for IT outsourcing, reports AccountingWeb.co.uk.

Highlighting the importance of keeping abreast of the latest technological developments in order to provide a high-quality service, the website spoke to Richard Anning, of the ICAEW’s IT Faculty, who said there were “definite benefits to outsourcing IT”.

“With the growing capabilities of the internet and Cloud computing, accounting practices are now able to outsource their IT services and software. Outsourcing is cheaper and more flexible, as you can turn it on and off when you need to,” he said.

In addition, it is important for companies to choose the right supplier who “understands your company’s needs and ways of working,” Mr Anning added.

According to industry expert Chris Baker, more business are turning to IT outsourcing to boost growth as the economic recovery gathers pace.
