Aimtec Outsourcing develops for MBtech Bohemia

The Aimtec Company, a leading provider of outsourcing services in the area of IT application development for Europe and the USA, has developed for the MBtech Bohemia Company a solution that has increased the quality of its current internal information system. The most important benefit is the new possibility to perform additional analyses, which leads to regular savings of several working administrative hours together with better transparency of the business information system.

The international Mbtech Group (Mercedes-Benz technology) with its headquarters in Sindelfingen, Germany, represents a significant engineering and consulting company in the automotive industry, which operates, besides Europe, also in North America and Asia. MBtech Group has its branches, through its subsidiary MBtech Bohemia, also in the Czech Republic, specifically in Prague (founded in 1996), Plzen (2002) and Mlada Boleslav (2007). The main focus of the MBtech Bohemia Company is the provision of engineering services, especially regarding CAD construction, the development of models, drawings and the performance of FEM calculations. An important service includes deliveries of prototypes. The majority of the MBtech Bohemia Company’s customers are in the automotive industry. However, a large volume of orders comes from other engineering segments. Extensive development cooperation is maintained with a world leading manufacturer of garden and forest equipment, for example.

The MBtech Bohemia Company uses for detailed management and monitoring of projects and the recording of attendance an own system that was developed specially to meet the company’s needs. Together with a growing volume of orders in the Czech branch in Prague, the orientation in the information system became difficult at times, and the employees started to face often various limitations imposed on them by the system. Team leaders had to spend a large part of their working time by making laborious reports of the progress of projects, on which their employees worked. Therefore, MBtech Bohemia decided to choose a partner, together with whom they would remove deficiencies and incorrect system data. Aimtec was selected as the best contender, who took over the development of the application, in which it incorporated changes according to the requirements of MBtech Bohemia.

The new application version led to a significant improvement in system transparency and has saved time of company employees needed for administrative tasks. In the first step, the Aimtec Company performed a detailed analysis and description of the legacy internal information system of the MBtech Bohemia Company in the UML language (Unified Modeling Language), which is a graphical language that serves to visualise, specify, propose and document program systems. After the detailed analysis of the current state, requirements for system enhancements were specified. Iterative delivery followed. The subsequent project phase focused on attendance recording and project reporting.
