Asseco Central Europe now also in Hungary

On December 14th, 2009 Asseco Central Europe (Asseco CE) acquired 70.04% of shares in the Hungarian IT company Statlogics with the seat in Budapest by means of Asseco Slovakia. In this way the group has covered another important market and extended its wide portfolio by an interesting product.

Asseco CE has entered, after long negotiations which had started in the spring of 2009, as a majority partner into another IT company – this time in Hungary. Statlogics specializes in software development in the field of consumer loans. Their solutions have been used in eight European countries. Their clients include leading companies in the field of retail financing that form part of multinational groups, such as UniCredit, OTP Bank, Groupe Societe Generale, Raiffeisen Bank, Fiat Capital, etc.

Jozef Klein, the President of Asseco CE, comments on it as follows: “This acquisition opens the door to another important Central European market for us – Hungary. In addition, Statlogics’ work in the area of consumer loan solutions, which have been successfully used by leading firms in Central and Eastern Europe, complements our portfolio and extends our offer for both existing and new customers.”

Statlogics? revenues in 2008 amounted to EUR 3.8 million. For information only, the company?s systems annually process loans at the rate of more than three billion Euros, which corresponds to five million credit applications per year.

Laurent Clerc, the Statlogics CEO, adds: “For us, this transaction is a good signal that our activities develop in the right direction. We are now part of the Asseco Group – fifth largest IT group in Europe, which will help us strengthen our position at the existing as well as potential clients.“
