Belorussian Team Sponsored by ScienceSoft Triumphs at the International Olympiad in Informatics in Canada

Gennady Korotkevich, a secondary-school student from Gomel, became the absolute winner of the Olympiad in Informatics held in Waterloo, Canada August 14 – 21, 2010. He outperformed the other 23 Gold winning participants with the score of 778 out of total 800. His runner-ups, students from Bulgaria and Poland, got 749 and 736 points respectively.

The other three Belorussian students also contributed to the victory, Aliaksei Kolesau, Yauheni Hrytskevich and Pavel Kalinnikov got bronze medals for their performance. The competition was held in two days on August 16th and 18th. For each day there were four tasks to solve. On other days, there were official ceremonies and excursions organized for the participants.
