Bridges of cooperation between Ukraine and Germany

The German Fraunhofer Society for Applied Research, founded in 1949, offers research centers and enterprises to cooperate on the implementation and commercialization of new developments in many areas of applied knowledge, including – not least – the information technology. Quickly and effectively establish business contacts necessary for successful business German scientists help scientific and practical conferences, workshops, exhibitions and round tables, which are regularly held around the world. This year was no exception: within the scope of “Days of German science in Ukraine 2009″ the Embassy of Germany provided the domestic business and scientific community with an excellent opportunity to look into tomorrow of telecommunications industry.

Thus, the main theme of the seminar, which took place November 30 – December 1 in the hotel Radisson, was innovative solutions for e-government, manufacturing, transport and mobility. The seminar, organized with the assistance of IT Ukraine Association, Association of Information Technology Enterprises of Ukraine, and State Committee of Ukraine on information, as well as other branch ministries and departments, was a notable event in the life of scientific and business communities of the Ukrainian capital. Perhaps another reason is that the questions which have been addressed at the forum are long overdue, and at the need for these to be solved the Association IT Ukraine had already mentioned in its admonition to candidates for the President of Ukraine “On Urgent Measures for the Information Society Development in Ukraine”, which, inter alia, stated that the ICT industry “can and should evolve into a system foundation of socio-economic transformation of the country, creating an efficient economy.”

The problems outlined in the admonition have become the leitmotif of those speeches, which stacked in one’s mind most persuasively. Thus, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Germany to Ukraine Dr. Hans-Jurgen Heimsoeth noted that our countries’ interest is “in the harmonization of industrial standards”, to the effective use of legislation in the field of IT devoted his speech Igor Ruban, Head of the State Committee of Informatization of Ukraine, the assumptions and possible solutions for implementation of IT projects in the MIC participants were introduced by Vladimir Zamkovoj, the representative of SJSHC Artem. German scientists have reported, too: they spoke about their expertise in implementing solutions for e-government, about the establishment of transport, hotel and service infrastructure for the Sochi 2014 Olympic Games.

The workshop was attended by Alexey Perekatov, Miratech Vice President, Corporate Marketing, who, when speaking about the results of the forum, noted that “Miratech always paid and will pay close attention to what’s happening in the IT world.” Emphasizing the importance of the seminar for all participants of the business process, Alexey Perekatov expressed confidence that “it will serve as further impetus to the development of the domestic IT industry.” “For our part, we guarantee our customers to provide solutions in accordance with international standards already now,” he said.
