BSkyB and GlobalLogic Open Global Web Management Centres

Presence in Ukraine and China Delivers 24×7 Proactive Monitoring & Support Capabilities.

BSkyB, the UK’s leading Broadcast, Entertainment and Telecommunications provider, and GlobalLogic, Inc., the leader in software R&D and support services, today announced the formal opening of two new Web Management Centres (WMC) in Kyiv, Ukraine and Beijing, China that will enhance BSkyB’s support capabilities. BSkyB has partnered with GlobalLogic to establish WMCs that will be responsible for proactively monitoring and maintaining the company’s broad range of Web properties and interactive services.

“We wanted to adopt a follow-the-sun model that would deliver proactive 24×7 monitoring and support capabilities,” said Didier Lebrat, Chief Technology Officer, BSkyB. “GlobalLogic’s presence in Ukraine and China enables us to provide the best in class services to our customers 24 hours a day. The internet is central to our strategy of providing innovative, informative and entertaining products and services”.

Unique to this partnership is the branding of the WMCs. Although established and managed by GlobalLogic, the WMCs are completely dedicated to BSkyB. The offices in Kyiv and Beijing have been set up to replicate BSkyB’s on-site facilities, and the engineers working at these sites are fully integrated into BSkyB’s corporate culture and operating procedures.

“It was very important to both BSkyB and GlobalLogic that the WMC team of 25 engineers consider themselves integral members of the BSkyB team,” said Peter Harrison, CEO, GlobalLogic. “We are delighted to be part of such an innovative infrastructure support model. This engagement complements our mission to develop and support software products not just as a services provider, but as a true R&D partner.”
