On April, 2009, “Baltic Software Solutions” was certified according to the ISO 9001:2008 quality standard. „Decision to acquire the certificate has been affected by the fact that the majority of our activities are abroad, where the ISO certificate opens wider opportunities to develop solutions for more various range of business. In addition, the introduction of quality systems can help improve the company’s activities“, – says General Director of BSS Aidas Kavaliauskas.

The quality system introduced in the company gives her a sort of competitive advantage in its field. In addition, it opens the western markets and facilitates exports. „The opinion of the client is yet the most important for us, because we develop products to help solve customer challenges and to run business processes more smoothly. During the preparation for implementation of the system, one of the procedures was the survey of four largest customers. The quality of BSS provided services was conducted by a third party. Results showed that we treat with our customers very well. The average assessment is 87 percent. The consultants also submitted positive conclusions. This shows that the quality system and the introduction of our company are both internal and external processes carried out effectively. We hope that customers now have more confidence in our products and the quality of our work. There is practice that the companies which are provided with the ISO 9001 standard, are treated as a solid and reliable partners, which are not only short-term profits, but also targeted to the long-term plans and quality. ISO (International Standard Organization) is standards of the international standards organization for quality management systems. ISO 9001 standard is the most prevalent in Western Europe, the United States. China is increasingly moving to the ISO 9001 series standards. There are over 300 companies that are certified according to the international ISO 9001 standards in Lithuania today. It is mostly the strongest companies in their field.
Management systems certification – this is the objective of independent expert bodies (certification bodies) in the evaluation and approval, the company that installed and operates a quality management system conforming to ISO 9001 standard requirements.

The certificate is issued every 3 years. Certification organization shall determine the extent to which they will carry out supervisory visits of the certificate’s validity period. This in itself promotes and stretches to improve.
