CMMI week in Ukraine: Miratech makes the first step

Last week of October was full of activity for Miratech. The Company was supporting CMMI week, which ESI (European Software Institute) Center Eastern Europe organized in Ukraine.

CMMI week, dedicated to quality and competitiveness, is the first event of the long term program “ICT COMPETITIVENESS PYRAMID” with the support of USAID/RCI (Regional Competitiveness Initiative). Its main goals are:

  • to increase Ukrainian IT industry competitiveness on the global markets;
  • to enhance the leadership in the regional IT capacity;
  • to establish a basis for collaboration and partnership for larger projects and business expansion.

Two Miratech experts passed the CMU/SEI official training “Introduction to CMMI”. Four Miratech managers were taught at the workshop “Software Process Improvement – Roadmap to Maturity / CMMI for Senior Managers”. Companies, attended the CMMI week, will be eligible for further support in Process improvement initiation through ITMark implementation and certification and maturity assessment through CMMI and ITMark Premium appraisals.

The achievement of process capability and maturity level goals is an important benchmark of success; however, it is not enough. Having achieved improvements in product quality and customer satisfaction, Miratech also achieved higher productivity, cost performance, and schedule performance. Better quality may not always be free, but it can occur with better project performance as a result of process improvement.
