The Coal Campaign elects Asseco Poland

Asseco Poland SA signed with The Coal Compaign (pl: Kompania Weglowa) a contract for the implementation of the system of conducting numerical model of deposit. The contract is worth more than PLN 11.5 million gross.

The agreement concluded between Asseco Poland and The Coal Compaign is applicable to design and implement an integrated system for creating and maintaining a numerical model of deposits and numerical mining maps. The deposit’s model will include, inter alia, data of its stratigraphicaly-lithological and tectonical structure, hydrogeological and geological-engineering conditions – engineering in the area of mining conduction. The system will allow the calculation of coal resources according to set criteria, like the ash content in coal, calorific value, modeling of quantitative and qualitative structure of its resources on board.

Implementation of the system will be implemented by a consortium, whose leader will be be Asseco Poland. Other companies that make up the consortium are: GEO-LISP, “Przedsiebiorstwo Geodezyjno-Kartograficzne Vertical” and “Centrum Informatyki ROW”. Asseco Poland will be responsible for building the system’s architecture and directing the whole project, the GEOLISP’s company for the delivery of solutions to the management of maps, the Vertical company for the vectorisation of the maps, while CIROW will support the undertaking by securing its hardware side.

The system of conducting deposits’ numerical model will be constructed on the basis of the utility class CAD, GIS and engineering applications for mines – including the application GEO-LISP, which is a result of the multi-work and experiments conducted by the researchers from “Silesian Polytechnic” in the implementation of coal mining. Spatial data management will be supported by the database software to manage spatial data of Oracle Spatial.

The solution will be designed in a modern SOA architecture, allowing easy development of the system in the future and simple integration with other systems, inter alia the ERP system or productive assets management system. The opportunity to achieve appeared in regard with the application of integrational platform Oracle SOA Suite for Oracle Middleware (Oracle Fusion).

Implementing  the system of deposits’ numerical model conduction will enable:

  • the optimum choice of exploitation’s variant based on the data obtained from a digital   model of deposit,
  • lower labor input to prepare a plan of mining plant motion,
  • easier and faster countershaft’s problem solving,
  • increase of the decision’s relevancy by the possibility of simulation and multivariate analysis,
  • instant access to deposit’s data in the case of accidents and threat occurrence,
  • the ability to visualize the planned mining,
  • simulation and minimization of effects of the planned exploitation of the land’s surface,
  • foresighting suspected marshs on the surface of land,
  • preparation of clear print outs of mining and surface maps in different  scales and for various needs,
  • Automatic generation of any breakdowns and profiles.

Asseco Poland in the framework of the implementation of the system will deliver a series of training courses for personnel serving and benefiting from the system.
