Comarch Brings the Presentation into ETIS Billing Workshop 2008

Comarch, a leading global telecommunications solutions provider, gave a presentation concerning Billing of Value-Added Services stemming from IMS during ETIS Billing Workshop 2008 ‘Telco billing strategies in the IMS’ Hosted by ETIS in Brussels – 17/18 April 2008.

Comarch was invited as a speaker during ETIS Billing Workshop as we are very experienced in the subject of billing and the IMS in telecommunications sector. The conference covered topics like Opportunities & Challenges for Billing of IMS Services, Billing Operational Efficiency and Cost Reduction, Data Retention and Electronic billing. During the workshop it was explained how Billing is a critical enabler as well as one of the biggest challenges facing telcos today. Comarch presented its experience from internal IMS Lab installation and commercial projects for customers.

- Over the last few years we can see a lot of discussions regarding operators’ migration to the IMS. There are still more questions then answers for business models and benefits. But there is one thing everyone is sure of – we will have more services and services will be created faster. But new service is not only its definition in the network and may require many changes in many systems. We cannot restrict analysis to changes in the on-line charging which is finally not so complex. I tried to present it from multiple perspectives – retail, wholesale and mediation and conclusion is that the real challenge is that IMS affect requirement of fast business rules adaptation for all IT systems in the IMS domain. That was a general message from my presentation – says Krzysztof Kwiatkowski, Product Manager of Billing Systems at Comarch SA.

The event was well attended by over 80 participants from 35 companies and a lot of positive feedback was received.
