Discover IT Belarus – International Cooperation

SaM Solutions is glad to announce its participation in the Discover IT Belarus event that will take place on November 24, 2011 (9:00 am – 7:00 pm) at Maritim Hotel, Munich (Germany). The company will take part in the event in tight cooperation with BICC, the Bavarian Cluster of Information and Communication Technology, and Belarusian High-Tech Park, a state initiative to promote and support the Belarusian ICT industry. The event itself is organized by the COMMIT Group (, an international group of companies providing consulting and event-management services. COMMIT assists companies in implementing their projects in Germany, Russia and the CIS countries via developing strategies, analyzing markets and organizing international business events.

The purpose of the event is to familiarize the representatives of the German business community with the peculiarities and major trends of the Belarusian IT sector, and to showcase existing opportunities for international cooperation. For Belarusian companies, the event will be a good chance to make new contacts, get a better understanding of the target markets and, ultimately, establish international partnerships.

Discover IT Belarus focuses on IT decision-makers from companies located in Bavaria and provides an opportunity for executives to meet their potential outsourcing partners, i.e. providers of software development services in Belarus. Visitors and participants of the event will be able to evaluate Belarus as an alternative location for outsourcing as well as to get an overview of several software development companies and their value propositions. Apart from IT, telecom and electronics, the services of Belarusian companies also encompass such areas as engineering, medical engineering, paper processing, media, publishing and banking.

The event will start with a welcome address by Andrei Giro, Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus in Germany. His introduction will be followed by speeches delivered by Martin Grossmann,Head of the Department of Central and East European countries and the CIS states from the Bavarian State Ministry of Economic Affairs, Infrastructure, Transport and Technology, and Robert Stabl, the managing director of BICCnet. During the presentation, the entire range of their IT services will be presented by such Belarusian companies as SaM Solutions, Intetics, IntexSoft Ltd., LeverX, Softeq Development, Promwad and Tieto. The floor will also be given to the representatives of the Belarusian High-Tech Park who will report on state of the ICT sector in Belarus in general and the special business environment provided by the Park for its residents.

The Belarus High Technologies Park, which currently has about 60 member-companies and joint research groups, provides unique opportunities: wide availability of highly-qualified and price-competitive engineering and technical personnel and services, favorable geographical location and special taxation conditions that foster the development of IT business.

Later on, some topic-specific reports will be delivered, such as, for instance, a report by Andrei Klishevich, Senior Manager Delivery Germany from SaM Solutions. His report will be called Distributed Agile – Experience andProject Case Studies and will be followed by a Q&A session. Based on practical cases, this workshop should incite the audience into an exchange of opinions on the use of Agile in their companies and its fitness for their business purposes.

The event will provide senior executives with information regarding the most prominent Belarusian software development providers, their capabilities and expertise, as well as with support and advice from the key outsourcing suppliers in Belarus working on the German market. The event will also be attended by some of their clients, which should help these companies make the right choice of a software development vendor.
