EPAM announces global Center of Excellence for Mobile, reinforcing its ongoing commitment to customer demands

Newtown, PA — September 20, 2011 — EPAM Systems, Inc., a leading software engineering and IT Outsourcing (ITO) provider with development centers in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE), has announced the opening of the EPAM Mobile Competency Center (EMCC) offering comprehensive services in every aspect of application development for the mobile community.

Backed by broad experience, a strong track record of delivering mobile projects for the customers worldwide, and deep expertise in mobile development and consulting, the EMCC offers a comprehensive portfolio of professional mobile services including application development and enhancements both for ISVs and corporations, IA and UI design, testing and certification, maintenance and support as well as “mobilization” of existing business applications and content.

EPAM’s first mobile project (the development of a complex mobile framework for a leading enterprise solutions vendor) dates back to 2005. Since that time EPAM has successfully delivered a significant number of mobile platforms and business applications for a range of industries — from ISVs and Technology, Finance and Banking, Business Information and Media to Travel and Retail and CPG companies.

In 2011 EPAM launched the EMCC to serve as a coordination point for the mobile expertise already residing across domains within EPAM, combining knowledge of specific hardware devices with development and deployment of applications on the full range of mobile platforms — iPhone/iPad, Windows Phone 7, Android, Blackberry, and Symbian.

By working in a distributed framework, EPAM is better able to integrate the mobile-specific competencies and best practices with a host of business and technical solutions that leverage them — mobile platforms and frameworks, industry vertical business applications, data driven backend integrations, news and content delivery, social applications, games, and mCommerce applications.
