The Award winners were announced on April 23, in Moscow as part of the regional JavaOne conference series.

EPAM Systems delivers innovative, Java-based solutions to Russian financial institutions. EPAM was recognized with a Duke’s Choice Award for developing a universal adaptor to connect banking information systems with Enterprise Service Bus (ESB), which resulted in significant time and costs reduction. The Duke’s Choice Award also highlighted the important role of Java technologies at EPAM and the company’s efforts to promote them in Russia. Currently, EPAM Systems runs a Java Competency Center with over 2,500 specialists involved in clients’ projects in North America, Europe, Russia, and the CIS countries. EPAM also has six Java training centers in Russia with more than 150 graduates annually.

“We were thrilled to announce the Duke’s Choice Awards in Russia to recognize the technical innovation and contributions that the Russian Java community has made,” said Peter Utzschneider, vice president of product management, Oracle. “EPAM is a great supporter of Java and this award recognizes the company’s efforts in promoting Java technologies in Russia and developing their innovative, Java-based adaptor for connecting banking information systems.”

Sam Rehman, Chief Technology Officer, EPAM Systems, said: “In Russia, Java technologies are becoming more popular among IT specialists and growing companies. It’s not surprising, since Java can be effectively used for mobile and cloud development, online solutions – e-commerce systems, online banking, etc., and development of corporate applications built on SAP, Oracle, and a lot more. All these areas are key drivers of growth in the IT market. With this in mind, we are very pleased to receive support and recognition from Oracle and the Russian Java community.”
