EXATEL is extending its VPN MPLS data transmission services to the Ministry of Justice

EXATEL SA has won the tender to extend the VPN MPLS data transmission network to a further 105 locations operated by the Ministry of Justice. It is the second biggest network of its kind in Poland, connecting a total of 432 ministry locations. The network provides a unified and convenient electronic access to the Land and Mortgage Register, National Court Register and the Pledge Register, making it easy to obtain essential information for businesses and individuals.

The contract is worth PLN 3.2 million (tax inclusive) and was signed by the parties on 6th December, 2010. The service will be provided until the end of November 2011.

EXATEL was also selected previously to be the supplier to connect 327 locations for the Ministry of Justice following a tender announced in summer 2008. It took only 9 months, from the moment of publishing the tender notice to the overall project completion. Successful building of an extensive Wide Area Network (WAN) for the teletransmission service dedicated to court central registers was achieved by EXATEL in cooperation with TK Telekom sp. z o. o. (Telekomunikacja Kolejowa). The use of modern MPLS technology allowed for faster data transmission among the customer’s locations, increased information security and lowered costs of service.

For many years, EXATEL has specialized in implementations of VPN networks based on various technologies. In 2002, as the leading operator, the company set up the biggest network in Poland based on MPLS technology. Among EXATEL’s public administration sector customers there are such institutions as the Agency for Restructuring and Modernization of Agriculture, the National Health Fund, the Office of Electronic Communications, the National Labour Inspectorate, the Supreme Audit Office, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Finance. EXATEL’s solutions are also used by many of Poland’s biggest companies in the financial and banking sector.
