HERMES SoftLab announces Citrix XenApp Management Pack for Microsoft System Center Operations Manager

Heterogeneous application management takes the stage in Las Vegas for the Microsoft Management Summit 2010

Application management pioneer HERMES SoftLab, a ComTrade company, today announced the imminent release of a Citrix XenApp Management Pack for Microsoft System Center Operations Manager. The new XenApp Management Pack complements the XenServer Management Pack, adding extensive support for Citrix XenApp. It will be released in Las Vegas at the upcoming Microsoft Management Summit 2010 (April 19th-23rd).

Both Management Packs were developed in cooperation with Microsoft and Citrix to provide comprehensive health, performance, and topology information, all natively integrated into the Operations Manager platform. Organizations with operations management standardized around Microsoft System Center Operations Manager are now able to equip their staff with out-of-box monitoring knowledge, tasks, and reports created specifically to enable day-to-day supervision of Citrix XenApp and XenServer estates.

“HERMES SoftLab’s broad experience with Citrix Delivery Center puts us in a unique position to offer a power-user grade management solution for Citrix users,” said Gregor Smrekar, general manager for HERMES SoftLab International Business. “We started with Citrix XenServer, imminently we’ll support Citrix XenApp and we’ll soon announce full support for Citrix XenDesktop. We have always envisioned our Citrix Xen Management Packs as a comprehensive Citrix Management solution suite. We are now realizing that vision for the Microsoft System Center Operations Manager.”

“HERMES SoftLab’s Citrix XenApp and XenServer Management Packs, in combination with Microsoft System Center and its own broad management capabilities, are delivering significant benefits and value to both physical and virtualized environments,” said Maarten Goet, System Center Operations Manager MVP and CEO of INOVATIV, the System Center specialists. “With the latest release of Citrix XenApp Management Pack, these benefits are further extended to deeply address the management of Citrix Xen estates. This integrated combination helps reduce the cost of datacenter management with end-to-end monitoring and management of servers and workloads, while assuring delivery of IT services to expected and agreed levels.”

HERMES Softlab’s Management Packs for Citrix Xen are integrated with Microsoft’s System Center Operations Manager and are designed to deliver immediate and long-term value across IT organizations, from operations staff and Citrix specialists to IT managers and CIOs. Featuring complete infrastructure and end-user monitoring as well as full topology discovery and unified management, they help guarantee resilience and reliability across Citrix XenServer and XenApp deployments.

In addition, a new version of the Siebel Management Pack has been released that now includes a complete Report Pack and support for Oracle Business Intelligence. HERMES SoftLab’s Siebel Management Pack for Microsoft System Center Operations Manager – launched in 2008 – provides a comprehensive ‘end-to-end’ service management perspective of Oracle Siebel CRM infrastructure within the Operations Manager environment.
