HiSoftware and Telerik Partner to Deliver SharePoint Accessibility Solutions

HiSoftware Inc. (www.hisoftware.com), a leading provider of Web content and social media compliance solutions, today announced a new partnership with Telerik, a leading vendor of development tools and user interface components for .NET. The duo have partnered to include Telerik’s popular RadEditor for ASP.NET AJAX as part of HiSoftware Compliance Sheriff® Accessibility Foundation Module™ (AFM) for SharePoint®, a solution which allows users to create an accessible platform/framework for a SharePoint 2010 or 2007 portal, or intranet site. RadEditor for ASP.NET AJAX, a cross-browser, rich-text editor, will provide advanced editing functionality for AFM.

“HiSoftware Compliance Sheriff and its Accessibility Foundation Module for SharePoint are the leading compliance automation solutions in the SharePoint market. We believe the solution will only be made better with the introduction of RadEditor for ASP.NET AJAX as part of the AFM module for SharePoint platform accessibility,” said Svetozar Georgiev, CEO, Telerik. “We are pleased to have this opportunity to team up with an innovative market leader like HiSoftware and look forward to a long and productive partnership.”

Many organizations – government entities, education, and corporate – using SharePoint require that the software products in use are accessible. AFM is offered as part of the HiSoftware Compliance Sheriff for SharePoint solution to provide a more complete and easy-to-deploy method of addressing SharePoint framework accessibility. The incorporation of Telerik ASP.NET AJAX RadEditor, a high-productivity Web editor, as part of AFM, opens up two new avenues of opportunity for website content contributors: faster and easier accessible HTML content authoring, and improved interaction for disabled users. RadEditor’s fully accessible content-managing UI permits disabled users to easily work, generate accessible XHTML output, and add content into a SharePoint site. The partners are also looking at ways to further integrate technologies to address other compliance areas within SharePoint.

Kurt Mueffelmann, president and CEO, HiSoftware, stated, “We have many large customers with disabled employees who need to contribute content via SharePoint sites. Including the Telerik RadEditor with Compliance Sheriff AFM for SharePoint will enable content authoring for all with a fully accessible text editor.”

Along with the inclusion of the Telerik ASP.NET AJAX Editor with the HiSoftware Compliance Sheriff AFM for SharePoint, HiSoftware and Telerik are committed to working together on accessibility solutions for technologies such as Silverlight® and AJAX, as well as standards such as the W3C’s ATAG 2.0 (Authoring Tool Accessibility Guidelines) initiative.
