IBA at Bank IT’10

From November 17 to November 18, IBA participated in the 7th international forum on banking information technologies Bank IT ’10 as the event’s general partner. The forum took place in Minsk, Belarus.

Aimed at sharing experience in banking IT to improve efficiency of the finance and credit system of the Republic of Belarus, the event was organized by the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus, the scientific and technological association Infopark, and the Association of Belarusian Banks.

Oleg Veremeichik, Head of the Central Department of Information Technologies of the National Bank of Belarus, addressed the participants of the forum with a welcoming speech. Vladimir Basko, Director General of the Belarusian IT association Infopark, and Alexander Kuchinsky, Chairman of the Association of Belarusian Banks, also greeted the participants.

More than 700 representatives of state institutions, leading Belarusian and foreign IT companies and banks, attended the event.

At the Bank IT’10 plenary sessions and sections, IBA delivered presentations on the following topics:

  • How to improve efficiency of bank IT project. Modern approaches to information system development.
  • IBM FileNet-based solutions to automate banking business processes. Workflow automation and data storage management.
  • Automation of retail banking.
  • IBM Cognos. Financial planning and budgeting systems for commercial banks.
  • Creation of modern banking systems based on service-oriented architecture (SOA).
  • Information security in the banking sector: the IBA experience.
  • Effective electronic document management.

In addition, SAP CIS, the IBA strategic partner, presented its case studies of SAP CRM implementation in the CIS banks.

Commenting on the results of the event, Sergei Akoulich, IBA Business Development Director, said: “It has been an effective and a well-organized event. Promoting the dialogue between IT vendors and financial institutions, the forum has met our expectations. We have not only presented our products and solutions, but have also exchanged our views and experience with our colleagues, and have held valuable discussions with our customers. As a result, we are able to better understand their needs and thus offer new solutions that are in great demand today and will certainly contribute to the development of the Belarusian banking sector.”

IBA was awarded a diploma for important contribution to informatization of the finance and credit system of the Republic of Belarus, and for active participation in the Bank IT project.
