From May 29 to May 31, IBA Group participated in the seminar Prospects and Trends of Banking IT Development in 2017 as the event’s partner. Organized by the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus (NBRB) and the Scientific and Technological Association Infopark, the event took place in the Training Center of NBRB in Raubichi, Minsk Region, Belarus. The seminar is held to support, promote, and develop the processes of digital transformation in the financial sector.

Organized for the ninth time, the event brought together IT department heads of Belarusian banks and representatives of IT companies.

IBA Group delivered the following two presentations.

• Expansion of ATM Functionality. Case Studies.
• Gradual Transformation of Traditional IT Model in Belarusian Banks.

IBA’s specialists discussed the rapid growth of fintech companies, cryptocurrencies, and blockchain. They focused on the issues faced by banks and how they should adapt to the challenges of time. Modern banks are turning into IT companies, developing their remote service channels, optimizing their branch networks, using social networks to communicate with their clients, and striving to launch new services as quickly as possible.  A modern bank should be where its clients are.

IBA Group focused on the company’s expertise in cloud technologies and introduced the audience to the spectrum of services of the IBA Data Center.  

The event finished with a round table discussion Transition of Banks to Cloud Infrastructure and Services. Representatives of commercial banks focused on bank secrecy and information protection as the main factors constraining the development of clouds in the Belarusian banking sector.
