On October 10, the finals of the SAP Coder competition took place in Moscow, Russia. IBA Group reached the finals with two projects, offering SAP customers prototypes of IT solutions to real business problems. The solutions are based on SAP Cloud Platform.

The first solution identifies a customer on a retail store using face recognition technologies. The prototype detects the client’s rating and profile, and sends the data about the buyer’s interaction with the store to assistants. The assistants approach the client and start a dialogue based on the information they have received, while the retailer receives store visit statistics.

The second solution classifies subjects in accounting using hybrid machine learning techniques and IBA Group’s proprietary algorithms. Using keywords, the web application searches for suitable values of the All-Russian Classifier of Fixed Assets codes and deprecation group, offering options with numerical probabilities in unit fractions. An accountant defines a deprecation group of the main asset and calculates the tax.

The prototypes were assessed by the following criteria:

• Functionality; the number of functions, as well as their benefits and relevance
• User Interface; all applications should be easy to use
• Originality; participants are expected to offer a non-standard approach to business problems.

SAP Coder is the first online competition organized by SAP CIS for individual developers, teams, and companies seeking to use the most advanced approaches in their work.
