IBM lands five-year outsourcing contract with Allianz Tiriac in Romania

IBM Romania has recently signed a five-year infrastructure outsourcing contract with insurer Allianz Tiriac, the company has announced. The insurer hopes to lower its IT infrastructure maintenance costs by 20 percent in the next three years.

Allianz Tiriac will relocate its IT infrastructure to IBM’s Data Center, located in Petrom City office compound in Bucharest. IBM has over 1,000 sqm for IT infrastructure there.

Oil and gas company Petrom has also externalized its data center to IBM, in a contract worth several million dollars and valid for ten years.

Earlier this year, IBM has appointed Bogdan Balaci to lead the Romanian subsidiary, after Mihai Tudor , who has been running IBM Romania for the last four years, has been promoted general manager of IBM for the South Eastern Europe (IBM SEE).
