At the third Combis conference, held in Zadar on May 20-22, IDC Adriatics director and chief analyst Boris Zitnik presented the latest study results, from April 2009. According to him, the value of Croatia’s IT market was reduced 1 percent in 2008 compared with 2007.
While IT services and software recorded a certain growth, the hardware segment expectedly saw a drop in demand. For this year, the IDC predicts a further drop of the market of roughly 7 percent. The market is expected to recover in 2011, while the average annual growth rate in the period 2009-2013 will be around 5 percent. Zitnik announced ‘cloud computing’ as the answer to the changed demand in the next twenty years.
