Intetics and BAFPUG Organized and Sponsored the Workshop ”Flex 4. New Features for RIA Development”

On May 29, 2010 Intetics and Belarusian Adobe Platform User Group (BAFPUG) held a workshop ”Flex 4. New features for RIA development” in Minsk, Belarus. The event was dated for the Adobe Flash Builder 4 (Flex 4) release and took place in the context of Flex 4 launch tour in Belarus.

About 60 Flash specialists gathered in Minsk on Saturday to get acquainted with the new Adobe Flash products and to listen to the presentations of Valery Pesetski, BAFPUG manager, and Sergei Yazlovetski, BAFPUG co-manager.
Valery Pesetski in his presentation “New Adobe Flash Platform Tools” covered two new Adobe products: Flash Catalyst and Flash Builder. Valery dwelled on new features of the products and demonstrated how easily and quickly a few samples can be developed.  Creating a working animated application in Flash Catalyst based on the finished design in Photoshop or Illustrator required almost no coding. The server part was easily connected using Flash Builder.

The presentation “Flex 4 Gumbo Framework” of Sergei Yazlovetski highlighted new features of GUMBO (Flex Framework 4), a free framework with the open code for developing rich internet applications (RIA). States, effects, FXG graphics, Advanced CSS and also the architecture and skinning principles of the new Spark components were discussed in the presentation. Sergei demonstrated using of text layout framework (TLF), skinning of the existing Spark components (Button) and creation of own component built on the new skinning architecture.
