IT development plan in Plastika

AIMTEC a.s. had assisted PLASTIKA a.s. with a proposed IT strategy

Aimtec helped the Kromeriz based PLASTIKA a.s. with the creation of their IT strategy. The Information Technology Development Plan will enable the company’s management to make effective decisions on new investment into information systems.

PLASTIKA a.s. Kromeriz, a prominent plastics manufacturer, produces injection moulded plastic parts. The company’s main customers are companies from the computer, automotive and electrical industries, for example: Faurecia, Magna Slovteca, Continental Automotive, TI Automotive, Automotive Lighting, Sony, Lexmark, Fujitsu or Siemens Computers.

IT strategy with Aimtec

Originally, Plastika produced only simple moulded parts. Recently, however, the company invested in new varnishing technology. Currently, an ever increasing share of total production is made up from goods with a higher value-added. A more complex production, which includes varnishing, welding and assembly, uncovered deficiencies of the current planning system. The corporate information system could no longer cope in terms of production planning and management, logistics and supplier communication. The new situation resulted in an unstable production plan and growing costs. The management decided to seek a solution together with AIMTEC a.s. The Aimtec corporation provides consultancy services in the field of IT strategy. One of the reasons Plastika chose Aimtec is the fact that Aimtec uses its extensive experiences from implementations of IT projects, thereby providing a guarantee on the feasibility of the proposed solutions. Representatives of Plastika have already seen the evidence of this during the deployment of a warehouse management system DCI MySite.

Rate of return as an important indicator for decision making

Aimtec, together with Plastica’s management, proposed options for the information system development. Corporate processes with necessary improvements, software modifications and additions were defined. For the top management, financial aspects of the proposed IT strategy are important, i.e. what are the costs of the chosen option, what improvements will the option bring and by how much will company profitability increase. Plastika corporation now has a document available, which defines the possible routes of information system development within its plant.
