Taylor Wimpey partners with LogicaCMG to transform its IT services delivery and achieve cost savings of over 20 per cent

LogicaCMG, one of Europe’s leading IT and business services companies, today announces a five year contract worth 30m with the UK housing division of Taylor Wimpey plc. The outsourcing contract will involve the integration and management of all of Taylor Wimpey’s IT systems following the 2007 merger of Taylor Woodrow and George Wimpey and signals growth in LogicaCMG’s UK outsourcing business.

Following a benchmarking process, Taylor Wimpey chose to award the entire IT services contract of the newly formed organisation to LogicaCMG. A key factor in this decision was the trust and confidence established between the organisations following LogicaCMG’s successful delivery of outsourcing services such as Service Desk, Data Centre, Desktop Services and Remote Infrastructure Management to George Wimpey over the last six years.

LogicaCMG will now work in partnership with Taylor Wimpey to improving the overall IT services function to the entire business and will be responsible for the transformation of Taylor Wimpey’s IT systems including hosting and project services. This will also include a focus on common infrastructure services across the merged organisation, and an improved service delivery model leveraging shared services, which will result in 20 per cent savings over the lifecycle of the new contract.

In addition to the IT outsourcing contract, LogicaCMG will become a part of the Taylor Wimpey IT leadership team. This unique partnership approach, based on the established and trusted relationship, will see LogicaCMG work with Taylor Wimpey to address current IT issues.
