Luxoft Helps Epiphan Systems Develop the World’s First Portal for Quick Computer-Aided Design of T-Slotted Aluminum Frames

Luxoft, a leading global provider of advanced application and product development services, today announced that together with Epiphan Systems Inc., an Ottawa-based developer and manufacturer of Video Graphics (VGA) and Digital Video Interface (DVI) signal processing products, has developed and launched FrameXpert.com – the world’s first portal for quick computer aided design of T-slotted aluminum frames.

Mike Sandler, CEO of Epiphan Systems and the product’s visionary, was looking to expand Epiphan System’s product base by offering custom aluminum frame stands. After an unsuccessful search for a parts manufacturer or for an off-the-shelf design solution, Sandler discovered a need in the marketplace for an easier way to design and order customized equipment and decided to invest in developing such a solution himself.

Sandler turned to Luxoft, Epiphan’s current development partner, with his idea of developing a portal and infrastructure to support it. Luxoft rose up to the task by not only immediately extending its existing offshore team by seven engineers, but also by taking an active part in further refining of the product’s functionality.

Using its technical, domain, and Agile methodology expertise, Luxoft was able to successfully develop FrameXpert.com and the accompanying desktop software product FrameDesigner, significantly reduced the time-to-market, while delivering high quality product. Skillful end-to-end project management on behalf of the Luxoft team was another important element contributing to the project’s success.

“We had a real synergy with Luxoft,” Sandler says. “We brought ideas to them and shared our experiences and were pleased to recognize that their team had the same experience, if not more.”

“There was good cooperation between the two organizations and utilizing Luxoft’s knowledge and experience especially in project management was the key to success for the entire project,” he says. “I learned quickly that they can really run the entire project without day-to-day participation on my part.”

Today FrameXpert.com is an interactive portal, which allows users, even beginners, to design their own custom T-slotted aluminum frame solutions such as workstations, cabinets and displays. The FrameDesigner software is free of charge, quick to download, and simple to master (For more information please visit www.framexpert.com).

“We feel very fortunate to be a part of this innovation.  However, what is more important is our success in bringing our client’s vision to life and becoming that trusted partner that we at Luxoft strive to be for every client”, said Dmtiry Loschinin, president and CEO of Luxoft.
