Microsoft chooses Polish company to develop Bing search engine

SMT Software, Wroclaw-based company listed on the NewConnect Warsaw alternative trading market, has signed an annex to its previous agreement with Microsoft. SMT Software is to work on developing functionalities of Bing search engine, ‘Parkiet’ informs.

‘Assigning us for this project is a major distinction for us. We feel appreciated by Microsoft, who had the opportunity to get to know us very well during the previous projects we have carried out together’ Sebastian Lekawa, SMT Software president, is quoted as saying.

SMT Software has formed several teams to meet Microsoft’s requirements. One of the teams is to work on generating dynamic search results. Another task ahead of SMT is to integrate various Microsoft products in a manner allowing Bing-users looking for a specific product, viewing seeing commercial results.

SMT Software hires 160 IT specialists and has five offices in Poland and one in Holland. After six months, the turnover of the company specialized in developing software solutions on demand and IT outsourcing services has increased by 83% reaching PLN 7.53 million, ‘Parkiet’ notes.
