Building a modern Data Center involves having to deal with a number of organizations and companies, including suppliers of hardware and software, system integrators, developers and distributors of uninterruptible power supply devices, fire extinguishing systems and structured cabling systems. It goes without saying that in this business coordinating efforts and harmonizing priorities is as important as generating revenue – this is the framework to which the interests of all parties are pinned.

Actually, that is what the III International Conference “Data Center in times of changes – finding an effective solution” was focused on. Held by the magazine Networks and Business in Kiev on February 24, 2010, it brought together some 450 guests from 160 organizations worldwide. The Conference was attended by Miratech, the company which more than a year ago already offered an effective solution to the problem. Still, market is calling for new approaches, for rethinking of conventional schemes of delivery… On the other hand, it offers servicing models that ensure customers flexible DC solutions. More than that: the new models can help relieve budget pressures through eliminating unnecessary or non-core investments, which, according to analysts, show tendency to a stable growth pattern.

Having said that, it becomes clear why the vendors’ proposals, which came at the forum, were perceived by potential customers without a trace of the former enthusiasm: as for now, vendors are unlikely to convert bank officials and IT technologists from telecommunication, oil and IT companies into real customers. Fortunately, there are positive developments in this area, which were paid by far more attention. For instance, on the faculties of efficient IT investments spoke Alexey Perekatov, Miratech Vice President, Corporate Marketing. The bottom line of his speech “How to Build Data Center in a recession” is a call to find such supplier, who can be a long-term partner for the customer, who can, despite the highs and lows of the current economic situation, let the customer have more value for less money.

The Conference helped figure out that Ukrainian market for DC outsourcing continues to take shape at an accelerated pace. Today, there are quite adequate companies in this business; they can provide full range of IT services, competitive to the highest international standards.
