Poland attracts BPO directed investment inflow

BPO directed investment inflow tendencies show that Poland is a hot spot for outsourcing investment activities in the CEE region, reports Polish Paiz.

The report “50 outsourcing cities” states that Poland is ranked 1st in Europe and 5th in the world in terms of outsourcing investment attractiveness, based on criteria such as quality and amount of human resources, education, costs of running a business activity, business-related risks, investment climate, infrastructure, quality of life, etc.

Cracow and Warsaw – ranked 5th (2007: 16th) and 28th respectively. Cracow – of all CEE cities – ranked by far the highest – with Prague tailing behind on 14th, Budapest on 25th, Bratislava on 35th, Bucharest on 38th, Sofia on 40th and finally Tallinn on 46th position, the report continues.

However, there are other Polish cities that also attract BPO investments, such as Poznan, Katowice, Gdansk or Lodz. This kind of investment creates workplaces for highly-qualified employees, states Paiz. India based ZenSar invested ?1.8 million in Gdansk (350 employees) and German MAN invested ?560 thousand in Poznan (360 to be employed).
