Proact enters into record agreement

Archive and storage specialists Proact IT Group have entered into an extensive cooperation agreement with a major Swedish corporation operating in Northern Europe. This deal is worth in excess of SEK 100 million over a three-year period, and means that Proact will be the overall supplier of data storage, backup and archiving to company operations on six markets.

“Given our expansion in Europe, this is a strategically vital deal for Proact,” says Olof Sand, President and CEO of Proact.

The client company used to have a number of different suppliers for storage and backup solutions, but was looking for one partner so that they could consolidate operations, gain a better overview and make significant savings in the field. Proact will have a key part to play in this work.

The agreement will remain valid for three years but may be extended for a further two; and it means that Proact will be supplying products, services and support to the client’s operations in Northern Europe.

This agreement is structured as a framework agreement from which the subsidiaries can submit suborders, with Proact as the supplier of storage and backup solutions. The value of the agreement is estimated to amount to over SEK 33 million a year.

“This cooperation involves all our specialist expertise in the fields of storage, archiving and backup and all our solutions,” says Olof Sand, explaining that Proact will now also be recruiting additional staff.

Proact has offices of its own or close cooperation with local players on all currently relevant markets. This local presence also enhances flexibility which allows storage capacity to be transferred between countries.
