Regus to open shared financial services centre for Europe, the Middle East and Africa in Prague

Regus, a leading international providers of solutions in the field of workplace solutions, is planning to establish a shared financial services centre in Prague for its branches in more than 40 countries of Europe, Middle East and Africa. The Prague central office will open before the end of the year and will employ at least 60 experts within three years, with the company anticipating an additional expansion. Regus is investing some 20 million crowns into establishing the Prague centre.

“Regus has chosen the Czech Republic after heavy competition with another five Central European countries. Other contenders included Slovenia, Hungary and Slovakia, but in the end Prague won out,” says Alexandra Rudysarova, acting CEO of CzechInvest. “Prague offers a sufficient supply of experienced specialists for investors. Another factor is the fact that we were able to offer Regus support intended especially for this type of investment.”

“So far, all our branch offices in the 44 countries in Europe, the Middle East and Africa where we are active have provided for their own financial service support. Over the course of the last three years, we have worked hard to unify our systems, and the creation of a shared financial services centre in Prague represents the culmination of these efforts,” explains Paulo Dias, CEO of Regus for the EMEA region. “Prague has an excellent position in the centre of Europe, meaning that it is easy to reach from all locations in which we do business. Before making our final decision, we also assessed the quality of life in several cities, and are convinced that the lifestyle in Prague and the city’s reputation will help us to attract foreign experts if we are unable to find the required people on the local job market.”

The Prague centre will provide services such as contract administration and the centralized administration and enforcement of receivables for the entire region. It will also offer support in the area of managing the region’s financial performance, cash management, financing and tax questions, including relevant IT support. The company currently operates 235 business centres in the EMEA region.

In the Czech Republic, Regus leases out furnished offices and related services in a total of four business centres – three in Prague and one in Brno. “There continues to be high demand for our Prague spaces, so we are planning to open a new business centre in the same building as our shared financial services centre,” adds Dias.
