Reksoft wins Innovator of the Year Award

Reksoft, a leading software development outsourcing provider in Eastern Europe and part of Technoserv Group, today announced that it had been awarded Innovator of the Year award by the American Chamber of Commerce in St. Petersburg.

The American Chamber of Commerce in Russia is a business association dedicated to promoting the interests of its member companies. The Chamber is a major player in the policymaking arenas of both the U.S. and Russian governments, endorsing solutions to trade and investment issues that protect and benefit the interests of over 800 U.S., international and Russian member companies – a quarter of which belong to the St. Petersburg chapter.

At the annual award ceremony, Reksoft was chosen over other technology companies within the St. Petersburg chapter of the Chamber as Innovator of the Year for completing projects for the Federal Migration Service of the Russian Federation.

The Federal Migration Service (FMS) is the federal executive body that implements the state policy on migration and performing law enforcement functions, including the monitoring, supervision and provision of public services in the field of migration.

The range of projects accomplished by Reksoft included the development of a series of information systems offering online public services to the general public, integrated into the information portal www.gosuslugi.ru. By bringing its public services online, FMS was looking to offer a new service level paradigm to the general public. The challenge was to develop a set of robust information systems to radically transform the approach of the government body to providing its citizens with IT services.

The developed system not only integrated all public services into a single portal, but also dramatically reduced queuing time for applicants, application processing time and ensured flawless operations within the client’s internal divisions. As a result, within the first year of operations, almost half a million applicants used the portal to access the services of the Federal Migration Service. As reported by the Unified Center of Documents in St. Petersburg, the queuing time for submission of applications to FMS was reduced from three hours to five minutes.

Last year a project done by Reksoft for the Federal Migration Service was already highlighted as the Best Interactive Federal Service in Top 10 Projects for the Public Sector award at the Comnews IT Awards

The past few years have seen progress in online public service delivery in Russia due to a number of initiatives brought about by the Russian government. This led to better positions in the world ratings for the country. For example, the Russian Federation leads all other Eastern European countries according to the United Nations e-Government Survey 2012, having advanced 32 positions in the ranking. Russia has also climbed 20 positions in the Global information Technology Report 2012 made public at the World Economic Forum.
