June 19, 2009 the 16th International Conference «Banking systems and networks» finished its work in Yalta. The forum is held since 2004 at the initiative of the National Bank of Ukraine and the Center for Banking Information Technology CBIT. The conference, in addition to the traditional organizers, was attended by experts from the banking sector, including representatives of the National Bank of Ukraine and National Bank of the Republic of Belarus. This year Miratech contributed to the forum as its party, rapporteur and sponsor.

The event received a positive response among IT professionals and the general public. CBIT 2009 was visited by nearly 250 attendees from 132 organizations that represent public administration bodies and entities occupied with technical support, design and traffic management software, as well as representatives of banks and the media. Miratech was presented by its management: Miratech CEO Valeriy Kutsyy, Miratech President Mykola Royenko and Alexey Perekatov, Vice President, Corporate Marketing. The Conference was opened by Director of IT Department, member of the board of directors of the National Bank of Ukraine Anatoly Savchenko with his report «Prospects of development of information technologies in the banking business».

During the plenary sessions a wide range of problems faced by the industry to date was addressed. With particular interest were received reports of the Director of Aygama Ltd. Marina Klanovets «Turning of cost-plus banks services for citizens into low budget and dynamic business», Deputy Director General of the Institute of Information Technology Victor Onoprienko «Current state and prospects of development of EDS system of Ukraine», as well as Alexey Perekatov, Miratech Vice President, Corporate Marketing, «IT Outsourcing: better service for less money».

In his report Alexey Perekatov focused attention on the benefits of working with reliable and proven partner – one of the oldest in the Ukrainian IT market, but also reminded the participants of the need to develop and implement business models that keep pace with the times. Noting that Miratech deservedly occupies a worthy place among other respected suppliers of equipment and software, the rapporteur introduced the old forum members the company logo and flag, and in his valedictory for new entrants stressed the importance of joining forces of all participants of the business process to overcome the stagnant phenomena in the economy of our country. Alexey Perekatov introduced the audience the article «How to manage qualitative and thrifty IT service for insurance business», published in the May issue of Network & Business, recommending for reading the materials of the magazine that could professionally interest the audience. It should be noted that the magazine was distributed to the conference attendees with handouts.

Report on the experience and lessons of the introduction and implementation of Miratech solutions in the financial sector served as a starting point for constructive dialogue with the company’s existing and new customers. Work conditions under recession and ways out of this situation, which suggests Miratech, became one of the main topics of discussion at the round tables where the speakers and invited experts answered questions and participated in a joint discussion of issues raised by the forum. The discussions helped delineate overdue questions in detail, sharpen the problem definitions and identify ways of further profitable cooperation with customers.

As the results of the conference proved, the tendencies to merge mid tier banking units, emerging with the economic downturn, remain dominant; when the process of centralization is swiveling not only in Ukraine but throughout the world, the challenge lies in the ability of supplier to meet the demand emerging from the financial sector as quickly as possible and at a reasonably low cost. Moreover, Miratech to date is one of the few companies in the Ukrainian market, which can deliver solutions to the given problem.
