Romanian IT re-launches its USA “offensive”

Another two Romanian companies in IT field have opened offices in the United States of America in Gecad and Softwin footsteps, despite the difficult period global economy is confronted with, Capital weekly informs.

Bucharest-based newAD Communication Co. is starting this month its activity in the new office opened in New York, NNC Services, under the name the company operates in the USA and is to offer business consultancy services and marketing outsourcing for B2B companies operating on the North-American market or desirous to expand business to this zone.

NewAD Communication Co. was set up in 2006, by Loredana Niculae, managing partner, and finished 2008 with a turnover of some 230,000 euros, estimations for 2009 going up to 660,000 euros. Loredana Niculae expects 30-40 percent of the business to be generated by the US office.

According to her, the company, which has already two clients on the American market, will have ten new clients till the year-end. As well, by 2009-end, the company is to open an office in Great Britain.

CoSoSys Co. opened an office in San Jose, California, in February 2009 and estimates that the US will generate some 20 percent of its turnover, even though for the time being results are below expectations.

Company CEO Roman Foeckl says that, according to its indicators, the third and fourth quarters will bring significant revenues, the companies re-starting to allocate bigger budgets for IT security.

Gecad opened an office in the USA, in 2007, which in the first quarter of 2009 posted 13-fold higher revenues than in Q1 2008. Its US office accounts for 15-20 percent of GECAD’s turnover.

“It is a normal follow-up of the activity run throughout 2008 and of implemented investments targeted at developing that office”, said Carmen Sebe, company CEO.

Peter Ungureanu, Omnisource Technologies CEO, set up the company in 2007 and has launched its activity in the USA and in Romania at the same time.

For this company the USA represent more than 90 percent of the services providing market and for 2009 the manager estimates a surge of 120 percent in its turnover compared to 2008.

As many as 15 staff work in BitDefender Office in Mountain View and the strategist of expansion on the American market is Softwin CEO Florin Talpes.

This company managers do not view the current economic crisis as a threat, given that the IT security is “strictly needed” and no savings are made to this end.
