Roundtable: Potential solutions for the question of human resources in IT

CzechInvest, the independent government agency for supporting business and investment, and the Czech ICT Alliance have joined together, with support from the Ministry of Industry and Trade, to organize a roundtable discussion on 21 October 2008 on the topic of “Potential solutions for the question of human resources in IT.”

The goal of the meeting is to define the practical issues faced by the IT sector on the Czech employment market, and to identify possible solutions. The participants will focus on the following topics:

  • Possibilities of cooperating with secondary schools and universities.
  • University graduates’ lack preparation for entering the work environment: – lack of university graduates.
  • Green cards – functioning of green cards in practice, possible pitfalls.

The panel discussions will be attended by:

    a representative from the Ministry of Education responsible for this area
  3. Prof. Pavel Tvrdik, advisor to the dean for information technology at the Czech Technical University
  4. Ing. Oto Novotny PhD, author of a CSSI study, Czech University of Economics
  5. Prof. Ing. Ivo Vondrak, CSc., dean, School of Mining Technology – Ostrava Technical University
  6. Doc. RNDr. Antonin Kucera, CSc., vice dean for information technology, Charles University
  7. Ing. Radko Sablik, director, Secondary School of Industry
  8. JUDr. Jana Zidonova, head of the employment services legal support department at the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs
  9. Bc. Vaclav Graf, Ministry of Industry and Trade
  10. JUDr. Zdenek Kral, assistant director, Ministry of the Interior

The discussion will be moderated by the deputy general director for enterprise support at CzechInvest, Ing. Jiri Nykodym.
