Six BPO buildings finished this year

With the business process outsourcing (BPO) sector continuing to show its resilience in the face of the global economic crisis, Megaworld Corp. is making sure that outsourcing and offshoring (O&O) firms will have available top caliber sites for their expansion by completing six new high-tech buildings at the McKinley Hill Cyberpark in the Bonifacio Global City within the year.

“Consistent with our commitment to support the continued growth of the O&O sector, Megaworld Corp. is fast tracking the completion of six new BPO buildings at the McKinley Hill Cyberpark, with five of them scheduled for opening this year,” Megaworld FVP for business development Jericho Go said.

Set to open this year are 8, 10, 18, and 20 Upper McKinley Road plus the Commerce & Industry Plaza. The World Finance Plaza, meanwhile, is expected for turnover in the first half of 2010. The six BPO buildings offer approximately 75,000 sqm of office space, boosting Megaworld’s office space inventory.

“We are hoping that with these new buildings, which are designed according to the specific requirements of BPO firms, we will be able to help the industry achieve its growth target of at least 23 percent this year,” Go said.

These six buildings boast of 91 percent floor efficiency ratio, allowing BPO locators maximum use of space for their operations. Each building has eight elevators to ensure efficient transport of personnel and equipment. Wide staircases allow employees to go up and down with ease between floors.

The buildings also make use of the advanced variable refrigerant flow (VRF) air-conditioning system that is very cost-efficient for BPO locators and gives them scalability for their operations. This allows tenants to control air conditioning use for specified areas during lean hours, thus driving down electricity costs.

Megaworld is allowing full naming rights if a locator will opt to lease the entire building. Signage rights are another option for locators to aid branding initiatives.

McKinley Hill Cyberpark in Fort Bonifacio, at 14 hectares, is the largest IT park to date of Megaworld Corp., the country’s top BPO office lessor.
