Skolkovo Foundation showed top mobile tech companies at MWC 2015

On March 2-5, 2015 Barcelona (Spain) hosted Mobile World Congress 2015 – a major international forum in the field of mobile technologies. 20 resident companies of the Skolkovo Foundation attended the forum.

Mobile World Congress (MWC) is the world’s largest exhibition of mobile technologies and solutions, which is accompanied by the Congress of IT sector representatives, mobile operators, mobile content producers and owners of specialized companies from all over the world.

The Skolkovo Foundation presented developments of 20 leading companies of IT Cluster at MWC. The exhibition showcased platforms for mobile application developers, mobile medical services platforms, mobile commerce and e-payment platforms, platforms for development of telecommunication services and applications, communication equipment and other developments in the field of mobile technologies.

I hope that the talks held at the exhibition will initiate closer cooperation and the implementation of major projects,”

“Navigine Company participated in the Mobile World Congress for the first time. We brought to showcase some of our solutions, including high-precision navigation based on inertial measurement unit and tracking of visitors via Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.

Through this technology we have determined that within the entire period of the exhibition our booth and the Skolkovo Foundation’s booth were visited by 30,206 participants connected to Wi-Fi. Our demonstrations aroused great interest and were highly appreciated by industry experts.

During the forum we have conducted more than 200 meetings and presentations for potential customers, partners and investors. The exhibition was very ambitious and outstanding, we were able to assess the current state of affairs in our specialized field, and in the mobile industry as a whole.”

About the Skolkovo Foundation

The Skolkovo Foundation is a non-profit organization founded in September 2010 by the Russian government with an objective to accelerate transformation of Russia from a resource-intensive to an innovation-based economy.

To achieve this objective the Foundation is overseeing the creation of the Skolkovo Innovation Center composed of companies and startups, developing innovative technologies (currently numbering over 1000), a Technopark, the Skolkovo Institute of Technology (Skoltech), a new graduate research University established in collaboration with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and Skolkovo city, located near Moscow.
